Resilient Roch (Rochdale)
Resilient Roch is an innovative project that integrates flood resilience with wider housing and social outcomes. It focuses on vulnerable communities in Rochdale, delivering combined property-level surveys that assess flood risk, energy efficiency, and housing condition in a single visit. This “one visit, multiple benefits” model reduces disruption for residents while enabling coordinated interventions, including installation of property flood resilience measures and energy efficiency improvements. The project explicitly addresses the intersection between climate risk and social inequality, targeting households most exposed to flooding and fuel poverty. By linking resilience with retrofit and public health outcomes, it demonstrates a more holistic approach to adaptation.
