National Flood Forum welcomes role in new Flood and Drought Resilience Taskforce

We welcome the establishment of the new Flood and Drought Resilience Taskforce and are excited to be a part of a new approach to tackling flood risk.
Bringing government departments, charities and industry organisations together offers hope for a more joined-up approach to flood resilience. By sharing expertise, listening to lived experiences and working towards common goals, we should strengthen support for communities and build resilience to the growing challenges of climate change, flooding and drought.
Flood resilience must start with communities. By listening to experiences and ensuring people have the right support before, during and after flooding, the taskforce has an important opportunity to build trust, empower local people and create a more resilient future for everyone affected by flooding. We have long represented the voices of flooded communities as part of the UK Floods Resilience Task Force.
We hope this taskforce will be a catalyst for positive change and a renewed sense of hope for communities across the country. We look forward to seeing the taskforce drive meaningful action with a clear commitment to supporting communities and a bold financial plan that delivers the resources needed to make a lasting difference.
